Hi, beautiful people! My name is Monale Barikuma, and I am the CEO, founder, and one of your beloved stylists at Mona’s Makeover. Many people don’t know this, but the beginning of this business started as a dream. I was 16 years old, daydreaming when I saw my hands moving in a pattern. The pattern was so clear that I mimicked it on my youngest sister’s hair, and poof, out came a beautiful head of braids. It took me 13 hours to complete the look, but when it was done, it was undeniable that I had gained a gift. Fast forward six years, and this gift has brought me connections with many people I can proudly call friends, family, and even mentors. I thank God for such a gift because He was the one who granted it to me. My intention with this business is to challenge what we see in the mirror, both internally and externally, grow a community greater than myself, and point everything back to God, the one who entrusted me with this gift.
